Data protection and confidentiality are key aspects of information management in every organization. Data security mechanisms, such as Row-Level Security (RLS) and Object-Level Security (OLS), can be implemented at different levels and using different tools. In this session, we will discuss how to implement RLS and OLS used in Power BI reports and models from Databricks. I will present the benefits and challenges of using them in both environments. Finally, I will present an example that will help you understand how these mechanisms work in practice.

6:15 PM – 7:15 PM Tomasz Libera – Streaming Data in Fabric
Today, we are surrounded by data that arrives in continuous streams. Beyond traditional factory sensors and IoT systems, this includes health monitoring via smartwatch sensors, smart home devices (temperature and lighting sensors, etc.), system log analysis, monitoring stock market price fluctuations, and more.
It is expected that real-time data analysis will become increasingly common. Real-Time Intelligence in Fabric enables this kind of data analysis. This component is advanced yet remarkably easy to use. During the session, I will present all components of Real-Time Intelligence—from data ingestion in Event-Stream, storing it in Eventhouse using KQL databases, to analysis in Power BI reports and Real-Time Dashboards. I will also introduce the basics of the KQL language, recorded in KQL Querysets. 90% of the session will consist of demonstrations that participants can perform themselves using a demo version of Fabric.

Kusto Query Language (KQL) is an advanced language for exploring data, finding patterns, and identifying anomalies and outliers (among other uses). During this session, I will cover the basics, but instead of boring tutorials, we will take on the role of a recruit in the Kusto Detective Agency, solving five detective cases. A missing book? Rigged elections? A bank robbery? All of these can be unraveled using KQL.

DevOps Toolkit for Data Developers (GH + Azure)
A presentation aimed at Data developers that will show how to build your own DevOps toolkit and use it even in small, one-person projects. We will discuss GitHub (+Actions), Terraform, linter and additional tools to start Data projects in Azure in a structured way and build solutions with a strong automation foundation at a low time cost. You will learn how to build your own toolkit using a variety of tools.
Network security in Microsoft Fabric
What are the options for securing access to Microsoft Fabric at the network layer level? What are the possible deployment scenarios in an organisation that requires restrictive access to resources? Trusted workspace, managed private endpoint – what do these terms mean? I will answer in this session.

Jakub Wawrzyniak
CTO @TIDK, Microsoft MVP
Solutions architect, coordinates and is responsible for the quality of projects implemented in the area of AI, BI, Big Data and advanced analytics. He specialises in designing high-performance analytics solutions based on the public cloud. His experience and knowledge in optimisation are appreciated by the largest Polish organisations. He is a PhD student, scientifically affiliated with the Department of Algorithm Theory and Programming Systems of the Institute of Computer Science, Poznan University of Technology.
He has been working in the IT sector for over ten years. Designer and developer of solutions for public administration, programmer. He has experience in international R&D projects, including on behalf of the university, for external entities. His research interests include issues such as algorithm design, computational complexity analysis, machine learning, combinatorial optimisation, and task serialisation. Member of the organising committees of the Game Industry Conference and Applied Data Science. Member of the Polish Game Research Society.
